      The Latin American and Caribbean Collection itself is one of a small number in the United States that maintains its own stacks, reading room, and reference services. The Latin American and Caribbean Collection reading room is located on the 3rd floor of Smathers Library. Approximately 70% of LACC holdings are in Spanish, Portuguese, and French. Rare Books and Special Collections Overview. There are approximat titles in the rare book collection. This includes all items stored in the vault, the original copies of all TCU theses and dissertations stored offsite in the Annex, the Erisman–Odom collection stored in on–site storage in the basement, and the James C. Wright library also stored in the basement.

Holdings The Latin American Library houses o titles of rare printed items that include rare books, journals, newspapers, broadsides, and pamphlets. Rare books, periodicals, and pamphlet titles are cataloged and may be identified using the Tulane University Libraries Catalog via.

The Latin American Library has substantially expanded its holdings to include digital surrogates of primary source materials in its Special Collections. These holdings include digital collections of photographic materials, rare books, and manuscripts collections hosted by.

The holdings of the Latin American Library’s Special Collections total over 6, linear feet of material comprised of rare books and pamphlets, manuscript collections, maps, rare newspapers, and a growing Image Archive with close toindividual images.
